While on an RV trip in Virginia, a member was doing some maintenance work on his motorhome when his ladder collapsed. He fell and broke his wrist, and needed surgery. FMCAssist Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance Program took care of all aspects of the emergency trip home, and within two days he was able to begin medical treatments.



During a trip on the East Coast, a member became ill and experienced a fall in his motorhome. He broke two bones in his back and required emergency surgery as a result. FMCAssist Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance Program arranged to have him and his wife picked up by ambulance and taken to the airport, where a small jet flew them home to California. Another ambulance picked them up when they arrived and transported them to the rehab center. FMCAssist Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance Program also arranged to return the member’s motorhome to his home.



An FMCA member experienced a medical emergency while wintering in Arizona. He was hospitalized for pneumonia and an irregular heartbeat, and his doctor advised that he should not drive home. FMCAssist Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance Program arranged to have one of his family members flown to Arizona in order to drive the RV to the member’s home in Iowa.
